Our Fire Warden course is extremely popular, we train approximately 350 delegates each year at the Fire Service’s training centre in Washington. Our current Net Promoter Score on this course is 92%. All of our trainers are experienced operational fire fighters who have a passion for fire safety; they are also great communicators.

Course Aim

The fire warden course will provide your staff with the skills and knowledge to enable them to undertake their role as a Fire Warden within your organisation.
The course is divided into both theory and practical elements giving your staff the maximum learning experience.

Course Assessment & Certification

There will be continuous assessment by the trainer over the duration of the course and a certificate will be issued upon successful completion.

Course Duration

1 Day – Buffet Lunch and refreshments is provided for delegates.

Session 1 – The Role of the Fire Warden

  • Evacuation Procedure
  • Human Behaviour in fire

Session 2 – Fire and Safety Legislation

  • Legislation
  • Work Place Fire Hazards
  • Fire Spread
  • Fire Detection and means of escape.

Session 3 – Fire Extinguishing Equipment

  • Classification of fire
  • Types of fire extinguisher
  • Correct selection and operation.

Session 4 – Practical Live Fire Session

  • Fire Behaviour & Evacuation (at Barmston Mere only)
  • Extinguisher Use – all delegates have the opportunity to extinguish a live fire.
